Chartreuse Knits

Where a college student learns--and struggles with--the zen of knitting. It's the process, not the product, though the product is much more fun to wear!

I'm not dead, I'm knitting!

Sorry for the lack of post for awhile everyone. I sort of lost track of time and stuff, what with the end of the semester and all. School went pretty well, though I haven't received my grades yet. However, to kick off the summer, I'm knitting my little heart out. Turns out, we're not going to Spain this summer. My mom needs to have some surgery, so we're going to stay here. In the meantime, to occupy three months before school starts again, I've got a list of upcoming projects to knit.

Before school ended, I took Laura to Hill Country Weavers in Austin. The look of joy and awe on her face was priceless. We explored, we fondled, we drooled... it was a fiber bonding moment for the both of us. She ended up with some Classic Elite Llama wool in gorgeous jewel tones of blue and soft turquoise. I ended up with two skeins of Lamb's pride bulky to make my sister a "Poster Boy" purse from Stitch N Bitch Nation for her birthday, and four lovely balls of Drops Alpaca in two yummy shades of green. I'm going to make the Leaves Scarf from Scarf Style with the yarn doubled.

When I got back to Brownsville, I immediately went to Michael's to get some yarn for a blanket for Dave, as well as re-stocking the knitting stash for the Harry Potter scarves that need to be cranked out by the November movie release. Woo Hoo!

So on the needles right now:

1. Ravenclaw Scarf #1 for my friend Angela
2. Square Throw from Comforts of Home: Simple Knitted Accents by Erika Knight

Soon to be on the needles:

1. Slytherin Scarf # 2 for my friend Stephanie
2. Vintage Velvet scarf from Scarf Style
3. Poster Boy bag for my sister

I'm thinking I may join the new Sockapalooza, since I wasn't able to commit to the Hello Kitty knitalong, so I'd like to do something easy and fun, and perhaps try out a cool new sock pattern or something.

Well, more news, and pictures to come tomorrow, of yarn, of projects, and some goodies the Good to be Girl sent me!
